Large Country Contemporary Family Home

Project Location:

Essex

Project Brief:

TO REFRESH A STYLE FAMILY HOME IN THE ESSEX COUNTRYSIDE

This large beautiful home nestled in the Essex Countryside was slightly tired and needed a refresh. A large glass extension was built on the front to flood the area with light.

The Sitting room was in need of an update and provided the family with somewhere to both relax in the evening and entertain their large family and friends. We wanted to create a smart, comfortable and luxurious room that would also be suitable for a family of seven. Stylish soft leather sofas were chosen by the owners for comfort and the scheme was designed around them.

We fitted the beautiful upholstered pelmets into the cornice to create a seamless effect. The neutral colour of the curtains was broken up by a soft velvet on the leading edge to create interest and contrast.

The Hallway was panelled throughout and painted in a pale neutral tone which linked the Dining Room and Sitting Room colour palette. We took out the rich pine flooring and laid a beautiful soft oak herringbone. and neutral/olive roman blinds and pelmets.

We added soft brass lighting to create a soft glow in the evening.

The large family who do lots of entertaining were also open to having a large bar in the dining room to entertain their guests. This large bespoke bar was painted in a dramatic green/grey dark colour to counter balance the soft neutrals of the rest of the room. It creates a fantastic functional space to entertain guests with everything you need on hand.

The Dining Room was also panelled to give the room a touch of luxury.

The master bedroom is awaiting large pieces of artwork to be hung behind the bedside cabinets. The scheme was neutral again with a large oak four poster in a contemporary style. Fluted wardrobe doors added a touch of contrast with soft 'floaty' curtains and blinds to complete the look.
